Step 6: Diamond Knot Industrial IPAIndustrialIPA

ABV: 7.9%

IBUs: 85

For all the people that have played BioShock… this is the ale representation of a Big Daddy.  The Industrial IPA is a killer brew that is currently one of my favorites.  It is straight up hopped to the core with bittering flavors.  The flavors in this beer are really neat and crisp.  The  strong malt backbone is just a vessel for this liquid artillery’s bitter payload.  While this beer is aggressively bitter, it is an extremely well crafted brew.  They added just enough malt to keep the high alpha acid hops from running rampant and destroying all you know and love, while at the same time left enough room for you to know that you have been hit by a hop bomb.

Diamond Knot is located in Mukilteo right across from the ferry terminal.  It is in a really old barn type of building that has a ton of character.  The Diamond Knot experience is a little old school too.  Every night the floor is literally covered in peanut shells.  Its a really easy place to kick it with the Industrial IPA.

Instructions:

Head to the Diamond Knot location on the Mukilteo water front.  Order an Industrial IPA as well as one of their excellent pizzas.

If by this time you own a growler, have it filled with Industrial on your way out the door.  Perfect quantity to keep you sufficiently “hydrated” for a weekend.
