Google puts price on Glasses, Nexus 7 Tablet

It looks like a lot of tech-geeks are going to have to tighten their belts this (release timeframe unknown, sometime next year). The Google Glasses were highly demoed and offered for developer pre-order at the price of $1500. Wow! Though having a real HUD sounds awesome, at that price (and locked to that OS) is probably too steep for this to become mainstream. But hopefully it will allow other interesting and competing tech to break through in the coming years!

Oh, and the Nexus 7 tablet (running Android 4.1 Jellybean) was officially announced today and should be out mid-July. Great specs and a low price, this has a damn good chance of competing with the Kindle Fire. Even with Google’s recent expansion into additional media, Amazon has a leg-up with it’s Prime offerings.

Yeah, I’mma consider this. But I already have a Kindle Fire and plan on getting Win8, so I’m not sure what gap this will fill.

Also note that you won’t have access to Prime streaming with this. Google is monetizing and starting their own media market, so keep your fingers crossed that they don’t fuck up using Netflix, Hulu, etc!
